Description
10" (25 cm.) A bisque shoulderhead doll with blue glass eyes, painted features, closed mouth, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, carton torso, hinged hips for walking, wire arms, metal hands, is standing behind a tin cart with two spoked wheels. When wound, the lady "walks", thus moving the cart forward. Condition: original well-preserved presentation, mechanism functions willfully. Comments: Roullet et Decamps, circa 1880, the toy was presented in their catalog as "Jardiniere" and described as having "costume riche". Value Points: the dainty lady with pretty face is beautifully preserved, wearing luxurious original silk costume and cap, with beautiful velvet flowers and plants in the cart.
