12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head with three alternate faces, one having ebony-black complexion with brown glass eyes and closed mouth; the second face having brown complexion with brown eyes and closed mouth; and the third face with white complexion, modeled closed eyelids and closed mouth.The head is enclosed in a cardpaste hood with brass knob at the top that rotates the head to reveal each face, original body with muslin over cardboard torso, composition and wooden limbs, pull-string mama crier, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: C.B. (in circle). Comments: Carl Bergner, circa 1892. Value Points: very rare three-faced model with beautiful sculpting and flawless painting of complexions.
