Description
5 1/4" (13 cm.) All-bisque figure of Kewpie with one-piece head, torso and legs, loop-jointed arms with starfish-shaped hands, sculpted black helmet with gold ball finial, gold accented strap and raised design of gold spread-wing eagle, painted black side-glancing eyes, upper lashes, blue wings. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: O'Neill (feet). Comments: Germany, circa 1912, from original designs by Rose O'Neill. Value Points: rare Kewpie model with especially fine sculpting of helmet details.
