14" (36 cm.) Bisque socket head with very high domed forehead, deep blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes, thick painted upper eyeliner, brush-stroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, pierced ears, Sonneberg composition fully-jointed body, straight wrists, antique velvet costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: S 3 +. Comments: Sonneberg, mystery maker, circa 1885, made for the French market. Value Points: handsome fellow has especially beautiful eyes, choice bisque, original body and body finish.
