Description
5" (13 cm.) One-piece bisque head and torso, narrow brown glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, single-stroke brows, closed mouth with wide smiling grin, row of teeth, original brunette mohair wig, loop-jointed bisque arms and legs, modeled bent elbows, pointing finger, painted white stockings to above the knees, flat black one-strap shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: JIO c. 1918 47 (incised) 47 (under limbs). Comments: one of the trio of character dolls designed by the American artist, circa 1920, made in Germany. Value Points: the wonderfully designed laughing character has well-defined features.
