11" (28 cm.) All-carved wooden doll with socket head, carved brown hair waved from her face, carved and painted facial features, brown eyes, upper eyeliner, single stroke brows, closed mouth, jointing at shoulders and hips, painted black shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: "The is a Holly Doll" (paper booklet) (the doll is also autographed by Helen Bullard on the back of her legs). Comments: created by Helen Bullard of Tennessee, charter member of NIADA, 1954, #2 of a limited edition according to the handwritten booklet which accompanies the doll. Value Points: rare American doll, in original costume, now more than a half century old, is perfectly -preserved in original artist-made costume.
