Description
12"l. The musical box plays 12 tunes, two per revolution, with a very fine sound and is housed within a rosewood box with rich floral and medallion marquetry design on the exterior lid, and inlay striping on the interior lid. There is a protective glass inner lid, decorative brass rosettes typical of the Ami Rivenc firm that enclose, the comb screws, and a winding lever. An early note attached indicates that the music was restored by Genevan musical box maker Rivenc at the end of the 19th century which explains the brass rosettes.
