21" (53 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead with slender uptilted head and elongated throat, blue glass sleep eyes, heavy eyelids with black liner, painted lower lashes, feathered brows, slender nose, closed mouth with center accent line, brunette mohair upswept wig over plaster pate, slender kid lady body, pin-jointed kid upper arms and legs, bisque lower arms. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 172 7 (head) (Kestner crown and streamer label on torso). Comments: Kestner, circa 1910, inspired by society lady illustrations of Charles Dana Gibson. Value Points: fine luminous complexion of the uniquely-modeled lady doll of the Edwardian era, original wig and body, and wearing wonderful original Edwardian dress with lace and embroidery detail.
