20" (51 cm.) Carved wooden shoulderhead of young child with very plump cheeks, painted brown hair with feathering at center forehead, deeply-sculpted painted blue eyes, dark eyeliner, accented nostrils, tiny closed mouth, defined double chin, cloth body, wooden lower legs with unusual carving, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: American, late 1800s. Value Points: wonderful face with original painted finish, unique wooden feet with right foot sculpted with ribbed stocking and black oxford shoe, and left foot barefoot.
