Description

13" (33 cm.) All cloth doll with sculpted and oil painted facial features and complexion, blonde hair drawn away from face with defined widow's peak and captured under pleated Dutch cap, all cloth body with padded armature, separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: created by Dorothy Heizer, charter NIADA doll artist whose works are in the Smithsonian and currently displayed at the Morris Museum, and from the collection of its original owner, Mrs. Samuel Yellin of Philadelphia who acquired the doll directly from the artist. Value Points: described as "Dutch Lady", the doll wears her original costume of rich green velvet with tiny buttons, four rings, two bracelets, and wide pleated collar, undergarments and shoes.
