8" (20 cm.) All-wooden black-complexioned character with two-part swivel head, attached tuft of hair over painted black hair, painted facial features, black eyes, accented nostril dots, closed mouth with pronounced lips, jointing at shoulders and hips, wearing original twill short pants with wide sash printed with card symbols, and carrying spear. Excellent condition. Comments: Schoenhut, circa 1909, rare variation of African native with tufted hair style and two-part head, preserved in outstanding original condition.
