Description
16" (41 cm.) Posed upon an ebony wooden base under a glass dome is an elaborate arrangement of velvet tufted cushion with attached wax orange blossoms, and surrounded by a bevy of gilt ormolu ornaments including flowers, leaves and a love bird with wreath. Excellent condition. French, circa 1885, the globe de mariage was a beloved French tradition, created to honor a newly-betrothed couple.
