Description
14" (36 cm.) Brown composition head with painted black hair, painted side-glancing eyes, "O" shaped mouth with hole in center as though playing harmonics, spiral spring upper legs for dancing effect, composition lower arms. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: circa 1935, the doll was inspired by Borrah Minnevitch (1902-1955), leader of the troupe,The Harmonica Rascals; he appeared in various short films, notably "Borrah Minnevitch and His Harmonica Rascals"of 1935. Value Points: the doll wears a vintage celluloid button with a photo of Borrah wearing the same jacket as the doll, and there is a miniature harmonica inscribed "Baguette Borrah Minnevitch" included.
