Description
14" (36 cm.) Porcelain one-piece figure of bathing doll posed standing with arms held in front of body and little hands clasped, brown sculpted hair with well-defined brushstrokes and feathering around the forehead, painted blue eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, one-stroke brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with very full lips. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1880, early model of the doll known as "Frozen Charlotte", designed as a play doll at the seaside with ability to float. Value Points: overall pink tinted complexion, unusually fine detail of hair sculpting.
