Description
4" (10 cm.) One-piece bisque head and torso, sculpted short blonde curly hair, painted googly eyes glancing downward and to the side, painted upper lashes, single-stroke brows, button-shaped nose, tiny "O"-shaped closed mouth, loop-jointed bisque arms and legs, bare feet. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: made in Germany, circa 1915, based on the original drawings by Grace Drayton, who also designed the Campbell Kids. The drawings, titled September Morn, depicted a little child shivering as she steps into a cold pond of water. Value Points: very rare doll with wonderful expression.
