Description
20" (51 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted facial features and brown baby hair with soft curls framing the forehead, modeled ears, brown eyes with shaded centers, two white dots in each eye, black and brown upper eyeliner, rosebud-shaped lips of closed mouth, muslin body with stitch-jointing at shoulders, bellows-jointing of hips, separate thumb, flat sole feet. Condition: generally excellent, original finish, some spotting on legs and arms. Marks: Kathe Kruse (original paper tag) Kathe Kruse 1136 (very faint ink script on feet). Comments: Kathe Kruse, the play doll version of their "Du Mein" character, 1935. Value Points: very fine original state of preservation with most artistic painting of face and hair.
