13" (33 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head on bisque shoulder plate, blue glass enamel eyes in narrow eye sockets, painted lashes, lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accented lips having hint of smile, ears pierced into head, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, shapely kid poupee body with square cut bodice, gusset-jointing at hips and knees, wooden arms with dowel -jointing at shoulders, elbows and wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: D. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1868, an early version of his smiling poupee, and variation of deposed wooden body. Value Points: rare model with original wig, superb condition of original body.
