14" (36 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head, very large almond-shaped blue glass enamel inset eyes in so-called "wrap-around" style, rich spiral threading, dark eyeliner, short dark painted lashes, rose-blushed eye shadow, brush-stroked brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the outlined pale lips, pierced ears, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, nicely costumed including fine early aqua silk bonnet, muff, white lawn-cotton dress, aqua kidskin shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 6 (C?)/0. Comments: Emile Jumeau, his earliest period luxury bebe known as portrait, circa 1877. Value Points: rare large cut of splendid eyes, beautiful bisque and painting, original body and body finish.
