9" (23 cm.) Bisque head with unique neck jointing that accommodates to rounded dowel at upper torso, unusual shape of face with heart-shaped chin, sculpted blonde bobbed hair with large blue hair bow, painted brown eyes in deeply set sockets, single-stroke brows, closed mouth with shaded lips, loop jointing at shoulders and hips, painted brown socks and darker brown shoes with one strap, nicely costumed. Marks: Igodi (torso). Comments: Germany, circa 1915, swivel head system, trade named Igodi was invented by Johannes Gotthilf Dietrich (see German Doll Encyclopedia by Cieslik) designed to allow realistic head movements. Value Points: rare model with wonderfully designed and painted hair and facial features.
