All cloth doll with of black muslin fabric with oil-painted facial features, painted side and down-glancing eyes with white eyedots, black upper eyeliner, defined nostrils, painted open mouth with row of teeth, black human hair wig with small braids, stitch-jointed limbs, painted black shoes, wearing simple blouse and skirt, apron with embroidered blue bird of happiness, red felt heart brooch, pearls, stocking cap with feathered ruby pin, and leather purse with rhinestone clasp. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: some details of provenance tucked inside purse which states the doll originated from eastern New Hampshire. Late 19th/early 20th century. Value Points: wonderful folk doll with artistic painting, charming costume.
