Description
17" (43 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted facial features, painted brown hair with forelock curl, brown eyes, white eye dots, black upper eyeliner, accented nostrils, closed mouth with pensive expression, stitch-jointed shoulders, wide disc-jointed five-seam legs, separately-stitched thumbs. Condition: impressed play dents on face, finish appears original, some tears at back of jacket. Marks: Kathe Kruse 85495 (left foot). Comments: Kathe Kruse, Type I, circa 1920. Value Points: the wistful faced child is wearing his factory original Dutch boy costume including wooden shoes. Private collection Linda Kellermann.
