35" (89 cm.) Bisque socket head, deep brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, dark lushly painted lashes, brush-stroked and multi-feathered brows, rich eye shadow, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with richly outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette human hair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body. Condition: forehead hairline (visible inside head only), some body retouch. Marks: F.G. (scroll) 13 (head) A La Tentation Guyot (boutique label on torso). Comments: Gaultier, circa 1885, the doll was sold in the Parisian toy shop "A La Tentation" owned by Mons. Guyot. Value Points: rare large size with dramatic and artistic facial painting.
