28" (71 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with very plump facial modeling, almond shaped brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted curly lashes, feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined pale lips, dimpled lip corners and cheeks, pierced ears, brunette hand-tied human hair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists and plump limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: R. 4 D. Comments: Rabery and Delphieu, circa 1880. Value Points: rare early block letter model in large size has superb modeling and bisque, beautiful painting, wearing fine antique ivory silk costume and elaborate bonnet, undergarments, leather slippers.
