18" (46 cm.) Bisque head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with Dehors neck attachment allowing head to tilt side-to-side and forward as well as swivel, cobalt blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, lightly-feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with pale accented lips, ears pierced into head, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset jointing at hips and knees, kid-over-wooden upper arms, bisque forearms, cupped hands, lovely gown of blue plaid silk and black lace, undergarments, shoes. Condition: generally excellent, body especially sturdy. Marks: L. Depose 4 D. Comments: Louis Doleac, circa 1875, whose small poupee atelier at 72 rue Archives in Paris, was located just three short blocks from the studios of August Dehors whose poupee neck articulation appears on this doll. Value Points: very beautiful poupee with rare maker’s signature, rare body style and neck articulation.
