21" (53 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes and brows, rose blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils, closed mouth with shaded lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, rose silk and lace dress, lace bonnet, undergarments, signed Jumeau shoes, rose socks. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1890. Value Points: beautiful gleaming patina of complexion, original body and body finish, the doll is in original box with a hand-written letter dated 1890 in which Mr. Harry Allen writes to "my dear Alice" telling her about the doll "Miss Eugenie" that he had found for her "in Burlington Arcade...just across from Paris".
