18" (46 cm.) l. The firmly-constructed paper mache bulldog with defined musculature and flocked original finish, has black upright ears, defined whiskers, brown glass eyes with painted black eye shadow, original leather collar with silver studs and bristle ruff, and with chain leash which, when pulled, allows the bulldog to move along on hidden wooden wheels, and open and closes hinge jaw, revealing fangs, and creating a fierce growling noise. Excellent condition. French, circa 1890.
