Description
6" (15 cm.) l. tureen. Of thick softpaste with creamy white ground, the dishes are decorated with transfer patterns of scrolls, borders and flowered foliage, in shades of cobalt blue and russet. The (partial) service comprises: large lidded double-handled tureen, two similar smaller tureens, deep platter with lid, eight other serving pieces including bowls, platters and gravy boat, and 17 plates and/or shallow soup bowls. Having impressed symbol and red lettered "4366". Excellent condition, few minor rough edges. Mid-19th century.
