Description
17" (43 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head with a different face on two sides of head, one face with glass eyes and closed mouth, and the other rare character face (impressed 159 on throat) with painted brown eyes, closed mouth, and fretful expression, painted brushstroked hair, composition baby body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, original body and body finish. Comments: Germany, Hertel and Schwab, circa 1912. Value Points: rare model whose unique design features include large ears which disguise the face "on the other side of the head".
