37" (94 cm.) Bisque head with flanged neck designed to accommodate to mannequin torso, deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, lushly painted lashes, thick brush-stroked brows, rich eye shadow, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, closed mouth with outlined lips, blonde human hair over cork pate, French mannequin torso with wooden lower legs, carved wooden ankle boots, composition and wooden arms. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 6 F.G. (scroll) Buste Girard (torso). Comments: Gaultier Freres, circa 1890, the specially constructed head model was commissioned by the Girard firm of Paris for use on their mannequin body. Value Points: highly dramatic painting accentuates the large doll, on original signed body with rare carved and painted ankle boots, beautiful antique costume.
