French Bisque Poupee by Gaultier with Wooden Articulated Body and Bisque Hands

15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, cobalt blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with impressed dimples at corners of accented and shaded lips, ears pierced into head, blonde human hair over cork pate, French wooden body with shapely torso, dowel-jointed articulation at hips, knees, elbows and shoulders, bisque arms from below the elbows, well-defined sculpting of fingers, vintage costume of coral satin, bonnet, undergarments, stockings, shoes. Condition: generally excellent, tiny flake on underside of right pinky finger. Marks: F.G. 2 (shoulderplate). Comments: Gaultier, circa 1865. Value Points: dramatic blue eyes beautifully contrast the pale bisque, rarer wooden articulated body and bisque hands.
