18" (46 cm.) six dolls. 7" two dolls. Each of the larger dolls has celluloid socket head with character expression, painted facial features, upper glancing eyes, thick upper eyeliner, painted brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, blonde or brunette human hair wig, firmly-stuffed cloth body with jointing at shoulders and hips; the smaller dolls with pressed cloth heads. Condition: generally excellent, one boy with ding in nose. Marks: made in Norway Vare-Merke, Ronnaug Petterssen (hang tag on three costumes). Comments: Ronnaug Petterson, Norway doll artist, circa 1950; the story of this artist is related in Ronnaug Petterssen, The Artist and Her Dolls by Bodill Meleney.
