Description
11" (28 cm.) Arranged upon a painted tin metal platform with three spoked wheels is a paper mache doll with swivel head, enamel eyes, nicely painted features, slightly parted lips, double row of teeth, blonde mohair wig, paper mache torso and legs, kid arms with separated fingers, wearing original aqua silk dress, and carrying a small bouquet of flowers. When wound, the wheeled hidden platform glides forward and in circles, while the girl turns her head briskly from side to side and moves her arms up and down. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism functions well, (non-original) key included. Comments: attributed to Theroude, Paris, circa 1850. Value Points: amusing toy is well-preserved with beautiful complexion and fine sturdy body, functioning vigorously.
