16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head, dark blue glass sleep eyes, mohair lashes, painted lashes, widely arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth, shaded lips, row of tiny porcelain teeth, pierced ears, auburn mohair wig over Steiner pate, Steiner composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: A 9 10 (incised) Paris Le Parisien (stamped, on head) Bebe Le Parisien Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Jules Steiner, commission bebe for the luxury Parisian doll store, Au Nain Bleu, circa 1890. Value Points: fine all-original condition, the doll has original wig, pate, body, body finish, original costume for Au Nain Bleu and original shoes impressed "Au Nain Bleu".
