Description
5" (13 cm.) One-piece bisque head and torso, sculpted short blonde curly hair, painted googly eyes glancing downward and sideways, painted upper lashes, single- stroke brows, button-shaped nose, tiny "O"shaped closed mouth, loop-jointed bisque arms and legs, bare feet, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Design Patented (original paper label at back torso). Comments: made in Germany, circa 1915, based on the original drawings by Grace Drayton (who also designed the Campbell Kids), depicting a little child shivering as she steps into a cold pond of water. Value Points: the rare doll has wonderfully sculpted features, original paper label.
