17" (43 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted facial features, painted brown hair with forelock curl, shaded green/brown eyes, white eye dots, thick black and shaded brown upper eyeliner, accented nostrils, closed mouth with pensive expression, stitch-jointed shoulders, wide disc-jointed five-seam legs, separately-stitched thumbs, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Kathe Kruse 87964 (feet). Comments: Kathe Kruse, Type I, circa 1920. Value Points: very dear shy expression with beautiful painting of forelock curl, soft cheek blush. Private collection Linda Kellermann.
