Description
19" (48 cm.) Solid domed bisque shoulder head, black sculpted hair in short boyish fashion with feathered curls at the forehead, painted pale blue shaded eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, kid poupee body with shapely form of one-piece legs, stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 6. Comments: circa 1860, other examples of this model have been found bearing the initials of either F.G. (Gaultier) or E.B. (Barrois) see lot 310 of this catalog), Value Points: very handsome gentleman with exceptionally fine sculpting and painting of hair, wearing original antique gentleman's costume including silver-handed walking stick.
