Description
9" (23 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head, blonde brushstroked hair, intaglio small blue eyes, black upper eyeliner, short feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth modeled as though open with smiling expression, outlined lips, defined tongue tip, two beaded upper teeth, composition bent limb baby body. Condition: generally excellent, two fingers broken on left hand, otherwise body near mint. Marks: F.S & C 1267 23. Comments: Franz Schmidt, circa 1910 from their rare art character series. Value Points: rare little intaglio-eyed character with endearing expression, very fine bisque and painting.
