14" (36 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with rich brown complexion,brown glass inset eyes,black painted brows,dark eyeliner,accented nostrils,open mouth with double row of teeth,ears pierced into head,black mohair fleecy wig over cork pate,tinted brown kidskin poupee body with gusset jointing at elbows,hips and knees,stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: attributed to Leon Casimir Bru,circa 1875,the model,with its highly characterized distinctive features,is written about in The Bru Book by Theimer/Theriault on pages 47-49. Value Points: superb sculpting of the very rare model with very distinctive and highly refined portraiture enhanced by fine luminous bisque,the face elegantly posed on slender throat,lovely antique costume.
