Description
11" (28 cm.) The bronze cabinet with cabriole legs is decorated with an elaborate crest, and garland-wrapped swags, and with hinged front door with an oval painting depicting an elegant young lady with a garland of flowers in her hair, seated in front of a pianoforte with one hand on the keys and the other extended toward the sheet music. The painting is signed Bussy, and a paint inscription at the back of the piano reads "Mme Elisabeth Jouant au piano". The door opens to a tapestry-silk lined interior. Excellent condition. French, mid-1800s.
