20" (51 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead of adult lady with head tilted haughtily upward and with heavy eyelids to enhance impression of looking down at others, oval face, elongated throat, brown glass sleep eyes, mohair lashes, painted lower lashes, accented nostrils, closed mouth with prim expression, auburn mohair wig over plaster pate, original kid body with pin-jointing, bisque forearms, antique costume of Edwardian era. Condition: generally excellent, tiniest flake on one finger. Marks: 172 7 (head) (Kestner crown and streamer label on front torso). Comments: Kestner, circa 1910, the doll was inspired by the Gibson Girl illustrations of Charles Dana Gibson, of which the doll is a very apt model. Value Points: lovely doll with near mint original body, fine antique costume.
