9" (23 cm.) h. head. Bisque head with flat-cut neck socket designed to display flat on shelf or accommodate to mannequin body, has heart-shaped face, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose-blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with beautifully-shaped shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1885, attributed to Maison Bru. Value Points: finest bisque, complexion, and painting of features; the milliner model head is displaying a pristine bonnet of the era, with accordion-pleated wide brim lined with coral crepe de chine, with lavish coral satin bows on the back side, and with milliner's label "Importers Stern Bro's West 23rd New York" on the inside lining.
