Description
13" (33 cm.) The wooden hanging cupboard has original painted red finish and is decorated with generous garlands and scrolls in gold and black colors, and with curved crest, angled sides, and a large hinged glass door. The interior shelves have shaped fronts, plate rails, and are generously filled with various miniature pewter and tin dishes (an additional 35 pieces, not shown, are included). Excellent condition. The rare painted cabinet was made Hindeloopen, Friesland, The Netherlands, mid-1800s, the region notable for its folk art painted furniture.
