Bisque socket head with white complexion, painted clown decorations, amber-brown glass paperweight inset eyes, red eye outline, dramatic brown painted brows, closed mouth, auburn mohair wig over cork pate, French composition body jointed at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Steiner Paris Fre A 7. Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1890. Value Points: rare clown with wonderful facial painting, antique silk costume with decorative ribbons and bells, red knit stockings and kidskin shoes.
