All carved wooden doll has swivel head with heart-shaped face, carved wooden hair with deeply-defined comb marks, painted brown eyes in deeply-set sockets, single-stroke brows, aquiline nose, closed mouth, well-defined chin, torso with defined V-shape at front torso for gown accommodation, flat black torso, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, painted blue shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Continental, late 1700s. Value Points: rare swivel neck, fine carving of hair with coiled chignon, fine antique silk costume with especially elaborate beading of coiffe.
