19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes from Jumeau brevete, lushly painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth, shaded and outlined lips, row of porcelain teeth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with working pull-string "mama" crier. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 8 (and artist check marks on head). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1895. Value Points: beautiful quality of bisque, original body and body finish, the doll is wearing superb antique costume including brown coat dress of cashmere wool with rose silk ribbons and embroidery (having original Jumeau size 8 label at inside neck collar),bonnet, undergarments, and wearing signed Jumeau shoes.
