24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head with very full cheeks, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, defined tongue tip between the lips, dimpled chin and philtrum, pierced ears, brunette human hair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: bisque head is excellent, body is appropriately sized and of the era albeit not original. Marks: Bru Jne 10. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1885. Value Points: very deeply-defined sculpting of beautiful facial features, desirable tongue tip, dramatic eye decoration, the bebe is wearing very fine antique cream woolen dress with embroidered detail, red velvet bonnet, undergarments, socks, leather shoes.
