Description
21" (53 cm.) Bisque socket head, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, accented eye corners and shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined shaded lips, pierced ears, brunette human hair over cork pate, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, body is not original but is French, of the same era and with original finish. Marks: J 9 ( head) Le Petit Parisien (body). Comments: Joanny, circa 1885, on body by Jules Steiner. Value Points: distinctive expressive features with finest bisque and painting, luminous large eyes.
