Description
12" (30 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head, blonde brushstroked hair with forelock detail, intaglio painted grey eyes, white eyedots, red and black upper eyeliner, short feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the very full outlined lips, composition and wooden ball-jointed toddler body with side-hip jointing, well costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 131 1. Comments: Hertel & Schwab, circa 1910, from their art character series. Value Points: rarity of the painted eye character is enhanced by very fine bisque and details of sculpting such as very full lips and impressed dimples in cheeks.
