Description
15" (38 cm.) All-wooden doll except metal hands and feet, carved details of face and hair with painted-over-gesso finish, painted brown eyes, black and red upper eyeliner, single-stroke brows, closed mouth, graduated-length finger curls, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: original finish albeit paint rubs on face and hair, hands attached in reverse. Comments: Joel Ellis, circa 1875. Value Points: hard-to-find larger size of the sturdy American doll.
