18" (46 cm.) Seated upon a velvet-covered base is a bisque head lady with large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, pierced ears, white mohair wig in 18th-century style, carton torso and legs modeled with bent knees, right leg hinged at hips, wire upper arms, bisque hands, blue silk gown and slippers, holding a fan and hankie. When wound, music plays, two tunes, she turns her head side to side and nods, first fanning herself and then bringing her hankie to her lips, while her right leg moves up and down as though in time to the music. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: L.B. (key) (original paper tune label). Comments: Leopold Lambert, circa 1885. Value Points: beautiful face enhances the joyful movements and music.
